I have been a sufferer for over 20 years. Was previously seen by a private optician, but referred to the hospital last year for treatment.
Don`t feel the service is the same, know only wearing my left lens and have been told it is to difficult to obtain a fitting lens for my right.
Where can I go in Cardiff area for another professional opinion regarding new lenses? I am also on a waiting list to discuss with a surgeon.
Thanks

Re: Suitable Lenses / Cardiff KC Opticians
Hi Higgy.
I've just had a look at the recommended opticians list on the main web site, and found this for you: Mr R N Roberts, 282 North Rd, Cardiff.
The problem with surgeons is that they tend to suggest surgery . That said, sometimes it's needed. The first surgeon I was sent to told me to go and get a better optician - I did, and she kept me in contact lenses for another 5 years! Its always best to keep your options open.
Regards,
John

Higgy,
The optician that John has recommended also does work at the university hospital of Wales opthomology dept.
They would be a good choice for you, but dont come cheap.
Go for the hospital referal as well.
Cheers
