advise needed

Postby chris1972as » Sat 25 Apr 2009 5:55 pm

hi all, i waswondering if you could advise me on the following, i wear hard contact lens and find the left one seems to stick a little to my eye and i tend to have a dryness in the corner of both of my eyes. I also find my eye lids are often itchy. By the way my left eye is more curved than my right. Would appreciate any advise.

Chris

Welcome!

Is it possible that your eyes are becoming dry? I have that problem and use Clinitas products to hydrate my eye at different times during the day. I don't wait until my eyes feel dry, but pop out my lens and flood both eyes with Clinitas soothe. I then pop my lens back in!

Check with your optometrist that it is safe to use artificial tears with your particular lenses.

All the best

Andrew

Also check that the lens hasn't lost shape. This may sound a little odd but I left mine in the sun in its case and it lost shape ever so slightly and didn't fit right. That was what I was told anyway! I might add it was the sun in Australia in 50 degree...

Check the fitting before doing anything drastic. It may also be hayfever, change in weather or over wearing of the lens. All far more common than the sun melting them!

Let us know the results.

Interesting you say that Jay because when I went on holiday with my family last year and were in Death Valley which was like standing in an oven, the heat was intense I got into thinking that maybe my RGP might melt!! Now I'm sure that's not possible but for a few minutes it just felt so hot I really did fear it!
