Advice

Postby Sophie Bull » Mon 03 May 2004 12:18 pm

Hi all,

Just looking for any helpful advice. I am currently trying out wearing two lenses in my left eye, thin soft with a hard lens on top, but its really not very comfortable and wearing a Rose K2 in my left eye. However if I wear the Rose K2 for a long period of time one day...say 8-12 hours the next day it is not very comfortable and seems to manage only a couple of hours before I have to take it out. My consultant implied that sceleral lenses are an option furthur down the line, but do you think i should try them now or continue with the other lenses, with my lenses in my visual acuity is 6/36 in my right eye and 6/9 in my left, is it possible to achieve better than this with a sceleral lens? I really dont want to have to reduce my wearing time, but am aware perhaps it is the only way.

any advice would be helpful as its turing into a bit of a battle at the moment or any things that I should ask my consultant when i go on the 10th

Thanks
Sophie

Dear Sophie

I have had similar troubles. I sometimes piggy back if my lenses are 'going
through a bad patch'. I also have a pair of schleral lenses which I wear
from time to time and wear frequently if my tolerance to corneal lenses gets
low. I am all for ringing the chages with this condition. I think chopping
and changing with plenty of options is a help. Good luck
