Otimum Lobob Extra stength cleaner

Postby khalid4423 » Thu 11 Sep 2014 7:09 pm

Hi,
I have just bought Otimum Lobob Extra stength cleaner? There is nothing to state once opened it had to use within a few months or weeks. No expiry date once opened. Does this mean I can used it until it runs out? I used boston cleaner before and had to throw away after 90 days once it was open.
Thanks

From my understanding these products come under strict regulations as this product is used for cleaning a medical device (a contact lens) and as such they should have on the packaging the btach number, shelf life and when to use the product by once opened.

As you say there is no such infrmation you should first contact the place you purchased this from as this is a preservative free product I feel there should be some information on how long it remains safe to use. Failing this, contact the manufacturer who's web site is a little basic.

Thanks Gareth,
I got a reply back from them:-

Thank you for your inquiry. The expiration is printed either on the label or bottom of bottle. "Discard Date after opening" does not apply on ESC because it does not go in the eye. It is an external product that MUST be rinsed thoroughly. Do not put directly in the eye. The product is good until the expiration date.

Hope this answers your question.

Sincerely,
