Web site outage

Postby John Smith » Tue 01 Apr 2014 11:48 am

Apologies to all for the web site outage over the last few days.

It appears that a planned server reboot caused the problem; but I didn't notice straight away, as it was all working for me!

After many hours of head-scratching, it turns out that the server was routing packets back to clients via a different route to them coming in - effectively killing all internet traffic to the server - but allowing it from my local network.

Still, it's mended now!

Apologies again.
John

Thanks John.

I am worried that I seem to understand all this.

I was wondering what was going on as I managed to somehow get access from my ipad whilst in Costa briefly but couldn't get access at home on my laptop, phone or ipad x
