Re: Anyone Not Able to Wear Contact Lenses?

I can't wear rigid contact lenses as I became sensitised to them, but soft lenses for KC are no problem at all, I wear them all day, every day all year round.

There are such a variety of lenses and solutions available, it is extremely rare to find someone who is ubale to wear contact lenses now.

Re: 17 and worried!

As one regular posted says on here, KC is a bespoke condition and no two cases are the same. Your KC may remain stable or it could get worse, only time will tell but there are far more treatments available to those with KC than there was even 10 years ago. Most people cope perfectly well for the res...

Re: A good consultant near Milton Keynes?

I got told off for mentioning specialists by name a while ago as did others, n I seem to think it is against the forum guidline to which is a shame as so many "professionals" who are not good with KCers n we deserve to know who the good ones are, hope you find someone x When I was moderat...

Re: Liverpool meeting

I would say this is about normal! When I have attended local meetings in the East and West Midlands, this would be about the average number of people that turn up. It is many yeasr since I visited the London goup but if I recall correctly, their attendance wasn't much higher. Perhaps to capture a wi...

Re: What job do you do and how does keratoconus affect it?

I've been following this for a while to see if everyone that responds has a problem with computers and I think it highlights something I have put on this forum before and I have observed this on other health forums. The data is very skewed to one side and I am sure this is due to the simple reason i...

Re: son's corneal graft operation

It's a while since I was 18 but I was 19 when I had the graft done in my right eye and 25 years on it is still going strong. I did have to give up a few things at the time but once it had healed, theonly thing I couldn't carry on was playing rugby. The University was understanding too and this is be...

Friends & Familly Key to Support

Recently I received a PM which I felt one section of should at least be shared! but like 99.9% of people I can see that you are another member of the SPS (Self Preservation Society). I find this comment quite offensive! Having spent six years missing out on my daughter growing up over the past 14 ye...

Re: AGM Venue

I do a lot of teleconfrences with work as it is the only way to get a large number of people from across the world together without incurring travel costs and the associated polution that goes with air travel. The system used is GlobalCrossing and I know others are available but this allows a presen...

AGM Venue

As the 2014 AGM thread was promptly locked, what about reviewing the location. I can't see from the locked thread where anyone was suggesting multiple AGM's in a year, just that could it be in a different location each year? Having looked at who is currently on the committee, a vast majority are fro...

TV Program on KC - 2

Shame this was locked so quickly, but a question to the KC Group committee; Will they be taking part to represent the group and promote the groups activities and the wider issues faced by those with KC? Just having individuals talking about their own condition is really just a series of case studies...
