Thank you Roman for sharing your experience with us. What is the long[term outlook for you after this surgery? Will you need to undergo any repeat procedure or is it a one-time only fix?

I got mine in too

I don't have a little rubber thing to help take my scleral out. at first I found it extremely difficult to take out, but now I just tuck my upper eyelid under the top edge and out it pops into my waiting hand. Let your elderly mother cook you as many turkey dinners as she wants! Philip ... Why are y...

Hydrops Update

Hi Jay The opthalmologist I saw seemed to favour the wait and see approach. can't complain ... it worked for me. I had some drops in the early stages but once that was over I used no medication at all. I now have quite dry eyes and have to use artificial tears, but I'm pretty sure that is related to...

I got mine in too

Well done! My own approach is neither hopping on one foot nor pacing up and down. I normally screw my eyes shut as tightly as I can and stand quivvering before I dare to open my eyes. I think I'm afraid the scleral will ping out the same way as my RGP corneals used to: of course it won't. Let us kno...

Hydrops Update

Hi Jayuk I think the time I had a Hydrops, it was about three and a half months before everything was back to the way it had been before. I've seen others on the old QT group describing longer and shorter periods, so I reckon each of us will have a different experience. By the time my cloudiness cle...

Stitches and eyesight

Dear John

I think I was afraid that would be the answer. Oh well!

Great new format.

Stitches and eyesight

I had my right eye grafted in December. My sight is still pretty poor due to a large astigmatism on my "graft" eye. The opthalmologist is going to start taking out stitches next month (first two will be removed on April 22). At what point will I be able to wear a lens in my graft eye? Will I have to...

Variety of services

I've been shaken to learn how much variance there is across the country in the provision for people with KC. I guess I'm lucky to live close to a big teaching hospital with a well established contact lens clinic and a dedicated cornea clinic. The Contact lens clinic at Gartnavel has been wonderful f...

Maybe a way round this problem is to make questions about KC "eye specific". That way we could have right eye / left eye questions that would at least enable us to respond in light of the common experience that KC is different in each eye.

Just testing

I'm going to try to set up a question, not because I want an answer, but because I want to find out if I can do it from here. Sorry if this is a nuisance!
