Flaxseed oil and dry eyes

Hi all Does anyone have experience of using flaxseed oil (in tablet form)? If so, does it help with dry eyes? I have been using the semi-sclerals lenses for a few months now, and the dryness in my eyes is getting worse. My optician initially suggested I try using Omega 3/ Omega 7 to help with that. ...

Re: Eye dryness and potential forms of alleviation

Jay87, Thanks for the suggestion. May I please ask how what you have recommended differs from something like the Systane Ultra eye drops? I currently use this so seeking to understand the benefit of switching. The active ingredients are Polyethylene Glycol 400 0.4% & Propylene Glycol 0.3%. Pleas...

Re: Eye dryness and potential forms of alleviation

Hi Andrew Thanks for the heads up. Please may I ask what is the difference between the Clinitas Soothe and the Clinitas Ultra 3? Also, I currently use the Systane Ultra eye drops, which are quite viscous. Upon contact with the eyes, the drops become preservative free. While available to buy off the ...

Eye dryness and potential forms of alleviation

Hi there... I have recently switched from wearing RGPs to wearing semi-sclerals. I used to suffer with dryness of my eyes, which was assumed by my optician to be partly caused by a poor fit of the contacts + using a cleaner & conditioning solution with preservatives. I have moved to a non-preser...

Re: semi sclerale lens

Dalbeath, I too have recently started wearing semi sclerals. Regarding the air bubbles, when I first got them I too suffered from them, but then my optician said that was caused because the fit wasn’t correct. She adjusted the fit, and now I don’t suffer from them and have no need for any fill of an...

Re: Problems with lens adjustment - suggestions?

Chris, Thanks for your concern. I’ve tried to make this as concise as I can, while being explanatory. At work, while they know I wear contacts, I haven’t/ nor will I tell them that I have KC. Work is such that everyone works more hours than they are paid for, so there is a degree of flexibility to w...

Re: Problems with lens adjustment - suggestions?

Lia, Thanks for addressing my questions. If I may, 2 other questions to help my try and square this circle. Not having ever experienced that issue, the bubbles you speak of, what is the result of these/ problems that they cause, and if they do happen after you have applied the solution, how do you r...

Re: Problems with lens adjustment - suggestions?

Lia Thanks for your input. If I may – when you say you wet your RGPs a lot before inserting them onto the piggy backs, is that with something like the Boston Conditioning solution? Because of the preservatives in this and other similar solutions, I can’t use any hard contact eye products that have p...
