Re: Advice blood vessell

Hi Would not worry about it, it's got a scary name though of Subconjunctival haemorrhage but looks worse than it actually is. In your case it could be a dry eye problem causing it. It should clear up in a few days. The aircon wont help. Use lubricating drops regularly every few hours not just when t...

Re: flying

Hi I can't see any problem. Assuming he has a gap in his appointments so you can fit it in. Pack all the medications in your hand luggage (new unopened bottles). Take a copy of the discharge letter from the hospital. You should look at taking out travel insurance that covers existing medical conditi...

Re: Do you see multiple moons?

Did this experiment a couple of years ago when I hadn't got any lenses in. Lost count but it was in the high 30's and the same for both eyes :)

Tried to draw it but gave up

Re: Cataract and lens implant

Well i had the cataract Op on Tuesday. Straight forward enough. Only thing I wasn't aware of (told) is they do some injections. Not only do they numb it and stop it moving (knew that) BUT it turns the vision off for 24 hours so you can't see a darn thing. They also did astigmatic keratotomy (cuts in...

Re: Should you try all contact lenses before surgery?

Hi Depends on why they are suggesting a graft. From a lens of any type you need to get good corrected vision (driving standard in your case), comfort and wear time. There may be other factors involved that make one or more of these not possible. With advanced KC you may have significant scarring tha...

Re: Cataract and lens implant

Hi Russel Glad the second ops went well. Hopefully you have got a good base line for them to work with. Best corrected vision is at that moment in time. That's not to say that it can't be improved with further procedures. In my case post graft and with a cataract lets say I have a BCDV (best correct...

Re: Distinctly Underwelmed by the Doctors

Hi Jacob Celluvisc comes in a couple of flavors 0.5 and 1%. The 1% is more gloopy so it may be worth asking for that. I was told to use it every couple of hours. I and a lot of people make the mistake of using drops only when the eye is dry. Unfortunatly that's not how Celluvisc works it takes a whi...

Re: Cataract and lens implant

Update Been to the clinic today. Vision is rubbish only getting third line so cataract is taking its tole. They struggled to get a reading on the astigmatism as well because of the darn cataract. So placed on waiting list for cataract op They are going to go with a standard lens and possibly pop a c...
