Craig - have you tried contacting your eye clinic, which presumably originally prescribed these for you? They might have greater supplies, or be able to advise on an alternative.

Re: Good luck to Rosemary
Hi Rosemary - as you know, my grafts were 20 years ago, so I can't remember that well how the drops regime went, but my memory is that the frequency of the steroids started reducing at the 4 week point. 9 weeks seems way too long for a follow up for such a new graft, so I'd say any of 1,2 or 3 would...

Re: new here
Welcome Mike, The other possibility is scleral lenses. They can be ideal for people who work in dusty conditions because they cover the whole of the eye, so the dust can't get underneath them. I don't know whereabouts in the country you are, because they're not available everywhere, but definitely w...

Re: Help! Being vastly overcharged!
Hi there! I think preservative free drops usually are a bit more expensive. And of course, because they're preservative free, they don't last nearly as long. But I don't see why you can't get a prescription for at least a month's supply, which would reduce the cost. Alternatively, it might be worth ...

Re: 48 hrs on!!!
All the best Chris! 16 separate stitches is quite common - and it does mean that the vision post-graft can be 'tweaked' by taking out the odd stitch if necessary. Here's to continued improvement - it's already sounding good!

Re: graft time
Hi Craig and welcome! People who need grafts in both eyes are a minority - having said that, there are a few of us on this forum. Mine were done over 20 years ago but two years apart. That meant I still had some useful vision out of one eye while the first graft was healing and then the grafted eye ...

Re: Collegen Crtosslinking in the Midlands
It's good to hear that another NHS hospital is starting clinical trials of crosslinking. And if any of our UK forum users know of other hospitals starting trials, do pass that information on to us, so that we can keep our members abreast of developments.

Re: Bad News
Andrew, I'm sorry to hear your news. But, as others have said, there are so many new options becoming available for KC, and so much research discovering more about the condition. So people being diagnosed now will have many more choices than us 'oldies'. And for parents worrying about passing on KC ...

Re: Travel advice
Hi Pinky The rules are that any solutions must be in containers of 100 ml or below. Unfortunately, most solutions come in containers of 120ml! However, you can take more in cabin luggage if you get prior agreement from the airline and the airport you're travelling from AND provide a letter from your...

Re: Good luck to Rosemary
Update - Rosemary had her graft yesterday but had a bad experience coming out of the general anaesthetic. She'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's had a similar experience. She probably won't be looking at her PC for a few days, but if anyone wants to ring her to offer a bit of TLC, she says...
