My consultant told me that in the majority of cases vision improves after CXL, so KC is not only stopped but reversed, it has to be done early enough for this to happen and that the treatment is not as invasive as compared to even wearing RGPs and we are not even talking about other corneal surgery...

A point to remember about CXL, the cornea must be above a minimum thickness before it can be done. Plus it locks the cornea into shape, so if your son is having lens problems, CXL on its own may not fix them. Like most things these need to be discussed witha consultant on a case by case bases. Sorry typo not Sept OCT 20th OCT - Have new glasses now.... very dissapointed vision seems worse than the old glasses before the ccl/cxl!!! doc says may need time to settle and I may need a ring in the bad right eye this was suspected and I was offered it before- but wanted to wait at least 4 or 5 ...

As you may have seen my diary on the forum, yours truly- had ccl/cxl done in Sept. I went back 2 weeks ago for an eye test for new glasses. I now have new glasses and they eyes seem worse than before the ccl/cxl. The doc said they will need time to settle, I go back in Feb 09. The right eye is worse...
