Re: epethelium - not grown after graft

I can't help from my own experience, but I do know we all heal at very different rates. I do hope the bandage lens does the trick, even if it is uncomfortable. But please post your query on the general forum, where more people will see it (this is the bit of the forum dealing with forum queries, not...

Re: Diagnosed today.

Hi Rita and welcome! There are probably loads of people out there with mild KC who never discover they have the condition unless, like you, they go for Lasik surgery. As your KC has stayed so mild all these years, hopefully it'll stay that way, and you'll be able to continue getting good vision with...

Re: INTAC Movement

Hi Vicky
I don't have any experience of Intacs, but really the only way to be sure everything's fine is to go back to the clinic where you had them fitted and have things checked out. It sounds as though all is well now, but there's nothing like reassurance from the specialists! Good luck

Re: Hi New Member

Hi Rob You'll find more information about Intacs on the home page of this site under Treatment Options. Also under Frequently Asked Questions, you'll find a summary of a talk about Intacs given by a consultant to our West Mids group a couple of years ago. And if you search the discussion forum for I...

Re: hi help

Hi cato4eva, On the home page of this site, you'll find a 'Keratoconus at Work' leaflet which you can download, and can be given to the employer to explain how KC can affect people. It also gives details of the Access to Work scheme which can help whether someone is registered or not. We have also j...

Re: NHS treatment - Intacs/CXR for people with learning disabili

Hi Leigh, Just to add that you're right - apart from some clinical trials at a few hospitals, CXL is not available on the NHS. Hopefully, once the trials are complete, that will change. Intacs have now been approved for use in the NHS and the number of hospitals offering Intacs is growing - however ...

Re: Glasses v. Contacts

Hi Fiona and welcome to the forum! Most of us get much better vision with lenses than with glasses. But part of what may be happening with you is that after you've worn your lenses for a while, they reshape the cornea a bit, so the prescription in your glasses isn't right for your vision at that poi...

Re: My Son's Corneal Graft

Hi Nan Sorry to hear that your son had such a bad reaction to the anaesthetic, and that it affected the stitches. That sort of reaction is rare, but as far as sight after a graft is concerned, it is quite normal for it to be poor at this early stage, and I certainly wore sunglasses for weeks after m...

Re: marked deterioration since graft

Hi Dweezil Some of the symptoms you describe are associated with a rejection, though your surgeon seems to have excluded that. But if you're still concerned, then do go back to the hospital before Monday - if it does turn out to be a rejection after all, then it needs quick treatment to reverse it. ...
