Re: How do you clean your plunger...?

I'm actually going the opposite direction, after nearly 20 years of wearing sclerals I'm going back to RGPs but piggy backing this time. I loved my time with sclerals once I got over my initial hesitation but I've been having tolerance issues the past few years. As for cleaning my plunger, I often ...

How do you clean your plunger...?

Hiya, I've been given a scleral lens to try by my optometrist. Previously, I've worn RGP lenses (for 25 years), so this is quite a shift and, to be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the change. Anyway, I've been trying to find some advice on how to clean the two plungers that are used to apply a...

Re: Stitches removed post-graft

Hi Andrew.

Thanks for your reply.

There is no pain as such today. I am still concerned about whether my vision will improve back Yo what it was before the stitches were removed...

Stitches removed post-graft

Hi, So today, rather unexpectedly, I had the stitches removed following a DALK last september. Tonight my eye is burning and the vision is pretty blurred - despite being excellent in the days leading up to today. I was just wondering if this was normal and if my eye sight would now improve as it set...

Blood shot eye

Hi all, So I had a DALK in September last year and things had started to settle these last few months. However, just over a month ago I noticed redness in the eye had the op in (Left). I went to A&E at Moorfields and they told me I'd burst a blood vessel but that it was nothing serious and shoul...

Re: Rubbing eyes in sleep

Thanks Jez - that's good advice. I tried finding some gloves yesterday but apparently it's no longer the season! I tried wearing the goggles as instructed but, I must say, these seem more uncomfortable and more accessible to rubbing than the eye patch. Maybe I should just keep wearing this? Although...

Rubbing eyes in sleep

Hello, As some of you know I had a DALK in September last year (left eye). Despite it being over 5 months I still sleep with the eye shield I was given (not the exact same one, but the same type) The last few days I have had a few problems and today I saw my surgeon. If i can just briefly outline wh...

Re: Katie Piper - The Science of Seeing

I think you are all being a bit harsh. The intended audience was not a highly informed group of kerataconus sufferers who have either a good knowledge of transplants or indeed first hand experience of them. Instead it was aimed at Jo Public. If the program made just one person sit up and think abou...
